For Bill Frames

Nothing on this page
is an opinion.

Every line below is either something you can check on your own phone in ten seconds, or something a command printed. No design opinions, no marketing language, and three of the twelve rows say the problem is not yours.

The short version

Your domain has forwarded to a domain that no longer exists since 2018.

It is registered, it is paid up through February 2027, and it reaches nothing. That is the whole finding. Everything under it is just the proof.

What your domain shows now
framesautomotive.com
FRAMESAUTOMOTIVE.COM
No description available. This site can’t be reached.

That headline is not a placeholder we typed. It is the only title the domain has ever carried, in every one of the seventy-odd copies the Internet Archive holds since 2016. Your Google listing is a separate thing and it is doing well, which is the point below.

What it would say
framesautomotive.com
Auto Repair in Vienna, VA | Frames Automotive
Independent auto repair on Mill Street in Vienna, Virginia. Virginia inspection and emissions. AAA Approved, NAPA AutoCare, BBB A+.

Same address. The only difference is that something is there to describe.

  • Check it yourself, in ten seconds

    Your domain does not reach a website

    framesautomotive.com

    This site can’t be reached

    virtualtourshowcase.com’s server IP address could not be found.

    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

    Type framesautomotive.com into any phone. It forwards to virtualtourshowcase.com, and that domain does not exist, so the browser stops there. Nobody who looks you up by name gets to a page. Not a slow page or an old page: no page.

    Why it matters. Every listing that carries your web address is sending people to an error.

  • Measured

    It has been broken for at least eight years

    virtualtourshowcase.com/framesautomotive/index.html
      2018-01-05   HTTP 404
      2018-11-12   HTTP 404
    (the only two captures the Internet Archive holds)

    The page your domain forwards to was already returning "not found" in January 2018. Those are the only two times a crawler ever reached it, and both came back empty. The company behind it, a virtual-tour firm, had real pages until about 2016 and then went quiet; its domain is now unregistered entirely.

    Why it matters. Nobody told you, because nothing announces itself when it stops working. It just quietly stopped.

  • Measured

    The domain has never actually held a website

    <html><head><title>FRAMESAUTOMOTIVE.COM</title>
    <meta name="keywords" content=""></head>
    <frameset rows="100%", *" border="0" frameborder="0">
    <frame src="http://virtualtourshowcase.com/framesautomotive/index.html">
    </frameset></html>

    That is the entire file, and it is the same in all seventy-plus archived copies from June 2016 to May 2026. It is a Network Solutions forwarding stub. The only words in it are your own domain name, which is why the only headline a search engine has ever had for you is FRAMESAUTOMOTIVE.COM.

    Why it matters. Even in 2016, when the far end still worked, there was nothing here for anyone to find. Not one word about cars, or Vienna, or the shop.

  • Measured

    The secure version throws a security warning

    $ openssl s_client -connect framesautomotive.com:443
    subject = CN=*.hostingplatform.com
    notAfter = Sep 12 23:59:59 2022 GMT

    Anyone whose browser tries the secure address gets a full-page warning before anything else happens, because the certificate expired in September 2022 and belongs to a hosting company rather than to you. Most phones try the secure address first now.

    Why it matters. A red security warning under a repair shop’s name is worse than no website. It is the one page state that makes a stranger think something is wrong with the business.

  • Measured, and this one is a risk

    virtualtourshowcase.com is unregistered, and costs one cent

    $ whois virtualtourshowcase.com
    No match for domain "VIRTUALTOURSHOWCASE.COM"

    Your domain permanently forwards to a domain that nobody owns. Anyone may buy it, and it is currently listed at $0.01. From that moment, whatever they put there is what appears to a customer who typed your name.

    Why it matters. This is the only item on this page that can get worse on its own. Registering that name is a penny and it is yours to buy, not ours. We will not touch it, and you should be wary of anybody who offers to hold it for you.

  • Measured

    You are paying for it right now

    Domain:   framesautomotive.com
    Created:  2012-02-27   Network Solutions
    Renewed:  2025-12-28
    Paid to:  2027-02-27

    The registration was renewed in December and is paid up into 2027. So there is a bill going out for a domain that has led nowhere since 2018.

    Why it matters. Whatever that renewal costs, it is currently buying an error page.

  • Measured

    Nobody can agree what time you close

    NAPA AutoCare, Yahoo Local Mon-Fri 8:00-5:00 Sat 8:00-12:00
    Chamber of Commerce listing Mon-Fri 8:00-5:30 Sat 8:00-1:00

    Directory listings for this shop contradict each other on both the weekday close and the Saturday close. That happens for one reason: there is no site of your own for any of them to copy from, so each one is repeating a guess somebody typed years ago.

    Why it matters. Somebody drives over at 5:15 on the strength of a listing and finds the door locked. That is a customer annoyed by a fact nobody ever checked.

  • Measured, and it costs you work

    Two things you are licensed to do that nothing online mentions

    On your window:   INSPECTION STATION
                      Certified Emissions Repair Facility (VA DEQ)
    On your door: NIGHT DROP IN REAR
    In every listing: none of the three

    You are an official Virginia inspection station and a certified emissions repair facility, and there is a night drop for people who cannot get here by five. All three are painted on your own glass. Not one appears in any directory listing, on any review site, or anywhere a person searching would find it.

    Why it matters. Somebody whose car just failed emissions is looking for exactly the second one, tonight, and there is nothing to find. That is not a missed impression, it is a missed job you were already qualified and equipped for.

  • Measured

    Your prices are on a wall only customers can see

    The board behind your counter carries your guarantee policy and a menu of priced services, under the AAA and ASE marks. It is the most reassuring thing in the building, and the only people who can read it are the ones who already came in. We have deliberately not copied a single figure off it onto this site: the photograph is not sharp enough to read and a wrong price is worse than no price.

    Why it matters. Posting a price and a written guarantee is the opposite of what people fear from a repair shop. You already do it. Nobody deciding whether to call you can tell.

  • Not your fault

    A vendor died and took your website with it

    The forwarding stub is Network Solutions’ standard product and it is doing exactly what it was set up to do. What broke is the far end: the virtual-tour company that built and hosted the actual pages stopped operating, and nothing anywhere was going to send you a letter about it.

    Why it matters. This is not carelessness on your part. It is what happens when the pages live on somebody else’s domain, which is also the argument for never doing it that way again.

  • Concession, and the important one

    You do not need more customers

    Customers surveyed by Washington Consumers' Checkbook say you are booked a month or two out, and the whole trade is short of technicians. The normal reason to sell somebody a website is that it brings in work. For this shop that is not a benefit, it is a problem, and anybody telling you otherwise has not read your reviews.

    Why it matters. So the site above is not built to generate calls. It is built to reduce the useless ones: it states the wait, it answers the eight questions the phone asks most, and it lets people who cannot get through leave a message that reaches somebody. If it worked perfectly, your phone would ring less.

  • Concession

    Your reputation does not need any help

    100% of 86 customers surveyed by Washington Consumers' Checkbook rated the work superior, which is as high as that survey goes. 5.0 on Google across 82 reviews, 5.0 on Yelp across 62. AAA inspects you. NAPA lists you. The BBB accredited you in 2018.

    Why it matters. None of that is visible at your own address, and all of it lives on platforms you do not control. That is the actual gap, and it is a small one compared to what most shops are dealing with.

About the thing you just scrolled

What this site is, and what it is missing

Weight
315 KB across 10 requests on the home page. No framework, no tracking, no advertising, and nothing loaded from anybody else’s server. It was 86 KB before the photographs went on, and the figure here has been moved four times rather than left at the flattering one. Better pictures will push it up again and it will still be light.
Photographs
Four, and none of them is of your workshop. Two of the front, the waiting room, and the counter. Nothing here is stock photography or a picture of a different garage. Three are unedited camera frames, and because the largest is 990 pixels wide, each is enlarged past its real size for the space it fills; the build tool reports by how much rather than hiding it.
All four photographs
All four have been sharpened by an AI tool. Every word in them was checked against the originals: your sign, the unit number, the night drop, the AAA plaque, the inspection decal and the emissions placard all say what they really say, and on the two front shots they are now readable. Three things did change and are worth you knowing: the smallest print on the first is nonsense at full zoom, the second renders your window as “Domestic & Foreign” where the glass says “Domestic/Foreign”, the joke sign in the waiting room has the right heading and the right nonsense but different numbers beside it, and the service board behind your counter is readable where the real one is not, though its price column was left blank rather than invented. Four other attempts were thrown away, including one that put your shop in North Carolina, one that advertised body work, and one that turned that joke sign into a real price list. All of this gets replaced by real photographs before anything goes up under your name. Half an hour with a phone camera replaces all four and adds the bays.
Your colors
Taken off your own building, not chosen. The dark brown is your sign, the red is the Coca-Cola machine and the gas pump in your waiting room, and the name is set to match the serif on your fascia. The one color deliberately not used is the blue on your services board, because it is close to the shop next door and you already have people arriving at the wrong unit.
Your logo
The name is set to match the sign over your door. If there is real artwork in a drawer somewhere it drops straight in.
Hours
Shown as the narrower of the two versions the directories disagree on, and flagged on the page as unconfirmed, so it never sends anybody to a locked door.
Everything else
Your warranty terms, whether you take cards, what you will and will not take in: all left as questions on the page rather than guessed at. Eight of them, listed on the service page.

This is a demonstration and it is not indexed. It sits at an address we control, marked as unofficial on every page, and it carries no claim we could not source. Nothing here has been published anywhere on your behalf and nothing will be without you saying so.

The penny is the urgent part. The rest can wait as long as you like.

Buy virtualtourshowcase.com yourself, today, and the takeover risk is gone whether or not you ever do anything else. Everything above this line stays true either way.
